We’d like to welcome out newest Model of the Month model Madalina from London.

The decision gets harder and harder every month with all our fantastic entrants and we would like to encourage everyone to keep applying because we look at every new entry with fresh eyes!

1) Congratulations Madalina! Please tell us a little about yourself.

I’m Madalina from Romania! I finished Physics and here in London I work in Centre Support for a serviced offices company. I love traveling, shopping, theatre and going out with my friends.

2) How did you hear about the Model of the Month competition?

I always buy my bras from Brastop so I get an email with all the updates. There I read about the competition and how to apply.

3) What made you decide to enter?

My friends always said to me that I should try it, so one day I gave it a go!

4) How did you find out you won?

I received an email from you saying that I’d won!

5) How do you feel now knowing you’ve won? Has it sunk in yet?

I still can’t believe it! Me? Yippee!

6) It’s great to have you on board! How did your family react to you winning and having your photos online?

My family doesn’t know it yet but they always supported me and respected my decisions.

7) Are you nervous or looking forward to the professional photo shoot and makeover?

A bit of both… But I am looking forward to it.

8) It’s always a fabulous day of pampering! What about the “Be our CoverGirl” competition?

I’m very nervous…

9) Did you always celebrate your curves or was it a struggle from the start?

In my family all the women have curves so I always loved my curves.

10) That’s lovely to hear! Out of all the prizes you won which one are you mostly looking forward to?

To be honest the £100 from Brastop – I have my eyes on some gorgeous items!

11) A shopping spree’s always great fun! If you had one wish to change anything about yourself what would it be and why?

To be totally honest I am happy with the way that I look but if I have to change anything I would like a flat tummy.

12) Who is your curvy idol?

I love Scarlett Johansson and I like Kelly Brooke as well.

13) They’re two inspirational ladies! What quote do you live by?

Smile! You never know when someone will fall in love with your smile.

14) What celebrity would you compare yourself to or aspire to be like?

I like Scarlett Johansson :)

15) Did you always want to model? And if yes did you always wanted to model in lingerie?

I think every little girl goes thru their mum’s make up and wardrobe and pretend to be on a catwalk. I always wanted to try it!

Thank you for taking your time to let us know a little more about you, we look forward to meeting you at the next photo-shoot!

If you would like to model of Brastop, don’t be shy… we choose a new model every month and we are looking for all shapes and sizes!

We’d like to welcome and congratulate out newest Model of the Month model Josie from the West Midlands, our winner for March 2013!

The decision gets harder and harder every month with all our fantastic entrants and we would like to encourage everyone to keep applying because we look at every new entry with fresh eyes!

1) Congratulations Josie, please us a little about you!

A bit about myself… well I’m Josie; I’m 22 years of age and live in the West Midlands. Random likes are theatre, cities, movies, country and rock music, seeing the world, and being spontaneous!

2) Sounds like a great love of film and music! So how did you hear about the Model of the Month competition?

I first noticed your Model of the Month competition on the Brastop Facebook page and thought…this is me; I have to give this a go!

3) That’s a great attitude to take! What made you then decide to enter?

I’ve always wanted to model professionally and saw this as a fantastic opportunity! I also noticed the girls who were winning were very natural and had beautiful curvaceous figures similar to mine, which I know are few and far between these days.

4) How do you feel now knowing you’ve won has it sunk in yet?

I am delighted to have won the competition! It’s so lovely to know that even after experiencing body snark and discrimination in the past, I can be acknowledged and appreciated as an aspiring model.

The moment I knew about brands such as Freya, Panache etc. I’d always admired the curvy models and wanted to be in their place – plus I am lingerie obsessed!

5) It’s great to have you on board Josie! How did your family react to you winning and having your photos online?

My parents are very pleased to know I’ve won, they understand how modelling is something I’ve always wanted to do and are thrilled that I’ve been picked!

6) Are you nervous or looking forward to the professional photo shoot and makeover?

I generally feel very comfortable in front of the camera, so I am more excited than nervous! However I’m sure on the day I will have a few butterflies as this means a lot to me!

7)  Are you nervous or looking forward to the overall “Brastop CoverGirl” Competition?

The Brastop CoverGirl Competition I’m really looking forward to. Literally could not describe how happy I’d be if I were to win! It would be a fantastic achievement.

8) Did you always celebrate your curves or was it a struggle to love them from the start?

Well ever since I can remember I’ve never looked like a beanpole, I’ve always had a large bust and have never been “thin”. I do really like my body. Of course I have a couple of hang-ups like everyone else, but in general I am happy with the way I’ve turned out! I’ve enjoyed learning how to dress for my body type and make the most of my figure, I think it’s nice to have a bit of shape to work with!

9) You look fabulous! Out of all the prizes you won which one you are mostly looking forward to?

Just the chance to model lingerie in front of the camera for such a great company – it’s my dream!

10) If you had one wish to change anything about yourself what would it be and why?

I wouldn’t say I’d change anything as I wouldn’t be who I am today. But if there had to be one thing it would be that I pursued dancing professionally.

11) Who is your curvy idol that you would aspire to be like?

Tyra Banks all the way! I just love this woman; she does it all, commercial, high fashion, beauty. She can be elegant and classic, or sexy and edgy. I also think she’s the perfect balance of fiery and down to earth…and all with that INCREDIBLE curvy body! She’s such an inspiration to me and I really admire her.

12) She is a wonderful role model! So what’s your life philosophy?

Be free to do anything, but whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability. Also I live by being spontaneous. Life’s too short to miss opportunities!

If you would like to model of Brastop, don’t be shy… we choose a new model every month and we are looking for all shapes and sizes!

Congratulations to Victoria Duncan (28G) – Our April Model of the Month Winner

1) Congratulations Victoria, please us a little about yourself!

Thanks! Well, I’m a 24-year old stay-at-home mum to my 21-month old daughter, Felicity; though I do feel like a mum-of-two with my husband in tow sometimes! I’m a Medical Science graduate, but decided to leave work to raise my daughter and am hoping to go back into education and work again when she’s in school. I keep myself sane with pole fitness, and even have a pole at home to practice! I love music, performing, sunshine, and nights in with friends watching films or playing games.

2) How did you hear about the Model of the Month competition?

I saw it on the website not long after it started, when I’d just had my daughter. When I first saw it I thought it was a fantastic idea for a competition, but I didn’t have the body confidence to enter with my jiggly mummy-tummy and big chest.

3) What made you decide to enter?

First of all, I entered Curvy Kate’s Star in a Bra 2013 on a whim when I came across it on Facebook (another thing I’d seen years ago but never had the confidence to enter). I was recovering from post-natal depression and was finally coming to terms with how my body had changed, so decided to go for it and got into the Top 30 – which was a massive shock!

Because of that massive confidence boost (and a new found love of showing my underwear off) I remembered and decided to enter the Brastop Model of the Month competition as well; especially when I saw it could give me the opportunity to restock my underwear drawer now my boobs have gone down from a 28J to a 28G… bras are expensive! My friends and husband encouraged and supported me in doing it too, which was lovely of them.

4) How do you feel now knowing you’ve won; has it sunk in yet?

It definitely hasn’t yet! I’m one of those people where things don’t usually sink in for a day or so, so I’ll probably be out doing the weekly shop tomorrow and will suddenly start doing a girly squeal!

5) How did your family react to you winning and having your photos online?

The majority of my family are supportive and proud, as they know it’s a big change to how I have been over the last couple of years, and it makes me happy. To any who don’t approve, I just don’t send them the link!

6) Are you nervous or looking forward to the professional photo shoot and makeover?

A mix of both, definitely. Mostly looking forward to it though! I am really looking forward to being made to feel glamorous (which doesn’t happen very often when I’m covered in baby food and the like) and seeing the results afterwards – but I’m also worried in case I freeze in front of the camera and grimace instead of smile!

7) Are you nervous or looking forward to the overall “Be our CoverGirl” Competition?

I’m definitely looking forward to it now!

8) Did you always celebrate your curves or was it a struggle to love them from the start?

I really struggled with them before. When I was younger I was a beanpole and was bullied for it, then I grew pretty much overnight at 14 and only my boobs got bigger! After I had my daughter I was a size 28J and a dress size 8-10, I felt very out of proportion and just wanted to cover up – which was hard in itself as I couldn’t find clothes to fit anyway.

My boobs became a bit of a joke with family and friends, and because I laughed along I don’t think they realised that I was unhappy. But I do celebrate them much more now, after taking advice on how to dress my shape properly, getting measured, and finding (pretty!) bras that fit – it’s made the world of difference!

9) Out of all the prizes you won which one are you mostly looking forward to?

Oh that’s a tough one, they’re wonderful prizes! Part of me wants to say all of the gorgeous lingerie… But the newly-discovered exhibitionist in me is going to say the photo-shoot, as I can’t wait to be pampered and pose in front of the camera.

10) If you had one wish to change anything about yourself what would it be and why?

I’d like to be a bit more flexible and co-ordinated… Despite working hard at pole fitness, I still look quite clumsy.

11) Who is your curvy idol that you would aspire to be like?

Kelly Brook – I think everything about her is beautiful!

12) What’s your life’s philosophy or what quote do you live by?

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Sadly I have missed opportunities recently that I regret already, and I don’t intend to do that anymore. I think life is too short, and people should just jump in with both feet and enjoy themselves while they still can! We’ve got plenty of time to relax in our later years, and it will be even nicer having wonderful memories to look back on while we do.

13) Did you always wanted to model and did you always wanted to model lingerie?

I wanted to model when I was younger (pre-baby), and used to do it on occasion. I didn’t have lingerie in mind specifically, but the idea definitely seems more appealing now there are pretty and sexy items available for larger-cup women.

We’re usually up to something quirky and amusing here at Brastop, and our latest video is no exception! It’s taken some time to produce and after teasing fans on Twitter, Facebook and Vine, we’re proud to reveal the first BraStopMotion animation.

Inspired by the opening credits of BBC’s Russell Howard’s Good News Show, the new video discovers the fun adventure of being a lingerie model made out of paper.

Introducing BraStopMotion – a new one minute video showcasing 192 individually produced still shots of our Model of the Month Freya Pibworth coming alive from a drawing and walking along a desk. She sneaks across the table, dodging bras, evading bees and even leaps into the computer screen!

What’s Stop-motion?

Stopmotion is a film technique where a video is created using a series of still pictures; a super-quick slideshow. For BraStopMotion we used 3.5 pictures per second.

During the Fullstop CoverGirl photoshoot last week, we caught up with Josie on her lingerie loves, her curves and why she needs your vote in our annual CoverGirl competition to become the new face of the next issue of our Fullstop Magazine.

josie_fpageHi Josie, please tell us a little bit more about you.

I’m Josie, I’m 22 and I’m from a little town called Shrewsbury on the Welsh border and I wear a 28G bra.

What would it mean for you to win the CoverGirl Competition?

It would mean an awful lot to me, something I’ve wanted, genuinely wanted, for a long time. It would mean the world to achieve this, to see my face modeling lingerie. It would be the best thing ever, for me!

Why should people vote for you?

I think I represent real women. I’m not going to force people to vote for me, but if people like my look, the way I sell or display lingerie, they I think they should vote!

So why did you decide to enter the CoverGirl Competition?

I’ve seen modeling competitions before, and I didn’t think there was a chance to enter because of my shape and figure. But with the CoverGirl Competition, I thought “there are girls there that look like me, with shape, boobs and bums”, so went for it!

Do you have any advice for those entering the competition?

Absolutely! If you are confident with your body and this is something you’re passionate about, absolutely go for it, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t!

How’s your experience been like?

I’ve liked it! I love socialising, meeting people, putting on all the pretty underwear. I like creating pictures and doing different poses. I love it! Absolutely enjoy modeling.

Josie Lifestyle 2

What have been the best parts of your day?

Meeting everyone, hearing about what people do, where there from and of course, taking good pictures.

Do you think it’s important to represent Brastop customers?

Yes, definitely! I want people to look at me and say “I’ve got a body like that; she looks good in that, so I’ll look good in that.” I think that’s what we should represent.

So how do you think you represent Brastop customers?

I think I’m confident with my body; I have a positive outlook on the fact that you can have curves and can look amazing in lingerie! If you have the right bra that fits, you’ll look great in your clothes and feel far more confident.

Everyone’s got flaws, little things that aren’t perfect, but if you knowwhat suits you and carry yourself well, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t walk down the street feeling like a million dollars!

Interview with CoverGirl Chloe Onyx (32FF)

Chloe joined us  for a chat during the CoverGirl photoshoot last week to talk her lingerie loves and why she needs your vote in our annual CoverGirl competition to become the new face of the next issue of our Fullstop Magazine.

chloe_fpageHi Chloe, please tell us a little bit more about you.

My name is Chloe, I’m 25 years old and consider myself to be a self-made commodity in the making, and I’m working on that! I am size 32FF and am from New York, New York but based in London.

What would it mean for you, winning the CoverGirl competition?

It would mean a lot to me! It would be a chance to take the lingerie modeling to another level as I’m not too versed in the lingerie modeling area. I would be very excited for an opportunity like no other.

Why should people vote for you?

People should vote for me because I feel like, as a buyer, I would want to go onto the website and say “that’s what my body looks like, if it fits her, it fits me”. I hope to be someone people can identify with and that’s why people should vote for me, I’m them and they are me!

So why did you decide to enter the competition?

In all honesty, I was watching a documentary on models and had on a whim saw if I could go online and find something for me. Being from America, there aren’t many opportunities for straight sized women – it’s either plus size or very thin. So when I came across Brastop, I felt that the competition was perfect for me. I consider myself a curvy woman, am busty, and this was the motivation to enter. So I decided to submit myself!

Chloe Top Lifestyle2

Do you have any advice for anyone considering the competition?

Absolutely! I feel that straight sized women are under-represented as far as modeling goes, and curvy women – those with a bigger bust size – it’s a great confidence booster. If you never thought you could do it, as your body isn’t the traditional model shape, this competition offers the opportunity for us under-represented women. It’s life changing, so to speak.

How have you found the competition?

I’ve had a great time! It was my first lingerie shoot and everyone made the experience enjoyable. I had a great experience and would love to do it again.

Do you think it’s important to represent Brastop customers?

Absolutely! Being a women with a bigger bust, you want to find a happy medium. This is the epitome of a happy medium. I want to go online and find a customer that looks like me, it’s extremely important, we favour body types and this makes you comfortable as a buyer.

Are you comfortable with your size?

It took time. I got teased a lot as I was thin, but had a chest. I embrace myself every day and won’t change a thing about it. I’ve grown into it and like my shape more!

During the Fullstop CoverGirl photoshoot last week, we had a chat with Nerima to find out more about her, lingerie loves and why she needs your vote in our annual CoverGirl competition to become the new face of the next issue of our Fullstop Magazine.

Nerima coverHi Nerima, please tell us a little bit more about you.

I’m Nerima, I’m 21 and from Luton. My bra size is 28GG and I’m a student!

What would it mean for you, winning the CoverGirl competition?

It would mean a lot, because I’m a very petit girl with bigger breasts. I feel that if I do win, it gives other girls like me, who may feel their breasts are a burden, hope that there are bras out there that fit their size. I was wearing the wrong size for so many years, but when I got fitted for Brastop, I found out my actual size!

So why should people vote for you?

I’m fun; I’m young and naturally curvy. I’m chilled out and would be a good young lady to win the competition!

Why did you decide to enter?

I entered because I saw the competition whilst shopping for bra and was impressed that Brastop were doing competitions for curvier girls. I don’t get a lot of modeling jobs because of my shape and don’t want to do glamour, so decided to enter because I felt the competition was classier, with a good cause.

Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to enter the competition?

Yes, go for it! It boosts your confidence, makes you feel good and you do learn a lot about bras. For the photo-shoot I wore a lace bra, and have never worn one before because of my size and felt I needed support, but actually love them!

Nerima top

How has your experience of today been?

It’s been wonderful, a long day but been nice. Hair and make is amazing, the photographer was nice, I feel and look great. I’ve enjoyed my day and just want to go eat!

So do you think it’s important to use girls like yourself to represent our customers?

Definitely! Because when we’re talking curvy girls in magazines, it’s definitely good to use real women so that other customers can relate to us.

Are you confident with your shape and size?

I am confident, but wasn’t before. I am learning to wear the right bras and dresses as I grow older.

Interview with CoverGirl Victoria Duncan (28FF)

During the Fullstop CoverGirl photoshoot, we caught up with Victoria to talk about her lingerie loves, being a mother and why she needs your vote in our annual CoverGirl competition to become the new face of the next issue of our Fullstop Magazine.

victoria_fpageHi Victoria, please tell us a little bit more about you.

I’m Victoria; I’m 24, originally from Stevenage but now living in Leeds. I’m 28FF and am a stay at home mum to my two year old daughter.

What would it mean for you to win the CoverGirl Competition?

It would mean a lot to me and as a stay at home mum I don’t get the chance to feel glamorous. It’s a big change from what I do day to day and would mean a lot to me, a confidence boost. Being a mum, as lovely as it is, can become a little monotonous. Winning would make me feel a woman again, and not just “mum”.

Why should people vote for you?

For one thing, I’d like to be able to show mums that they can be glamorous and feel pretty in their underwear. Your body has changed, but it has changed for the better. You can find different bras for your shape to feel supported and sexy. I’d love to be a good representative for Brastop and because I’ve had a lot of issues with my body, I’d like to think to be able to be positive and show that no whatever your size, you can be sexy.

So why did you decide to enter?

I entered the Curvy Kate Star in a Bra from recommendation from friends and got into the top 30. It was a massive confident boost, and decided to enter the Model of the Month competition as well. I went for it and here I am!

Victoria Lifestyle

Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to enter the competition?

Just go for it! At the end of the day, if you don’t enter you don’t have a chance of winning. Just do it!

How has your experience been like?

I’ve really enjoyed it! I love being pampered, having my hair and make-up done. Meeting all the girls has been fun, we are all in the same boat, and have become more confident about doing these poses. I’d love to do more!

Do you think it’s important to represent Brastop customers?

I think it’s really important! When you look through some catalogues and see models with smaller chests, sometimes it’s harder to imagine the product on a larger cup. When you see a product on a person with a body shape and chest similar to yourself, it is re-assuring so it’s really important to see that.

Are you confident within yourself?

Over the last year or so I’m more confident about how my body is now. I’m much more confident now and willing to show it off, encouraging other people to do so!

The latest CK bandeau tops are based on the absolutely glorious Luxe strapless bra, so we already know that the lift is going to be incredible! I recently wore this on holiday and it made me feel super confident, I was well supported and had no issues with swimming – I loved it!

6. Curvy Kate Luau Love Bandeau Bikini Top Flamingo (D-J) – £35 (Now £23.95)
This is such a classic! It flatters, skims and nips in in all the right places, just like all of the CK tankinis. The adjustable tie sides add a little bit of sex appeal to a fully supportive top.

7. Curvy Kate Starry Eyed Padded Bikini Flamingo (D-K) – RRP £35 (Now £21.95)
Now for something a little more fun, the star print on this bikini is so unique and is such an nice change to the usual summer prints we see. The top fits perfectly, just like a bra, making it a 10/10 for comfort and confidence levels!

8. Curvy Kate Beach Bloom Moulded Bikini Top Topaz Floral (D-J) – £35 (Now £23.95)
The colours on this bikini are so dreamy, they are also guaranteed to make you feel gorgeous and girly! The skirted brief is also a really cute option and perfect for those who like something a little different.

9. Curvy Kate Moonflower Plunge Bikini Black/Floral (D-J) – £34 (Now £22.95)
This is kinda like Beach Bloom’s sexier friend. This shape gives an absolute knockout cleavage (as you can see)!

How to get the Perfect Bra Fit

$

Measuring with a tape measure is a thing of the past and might I say extremely confusing. This measurement minus this measurement, it’s far too much faff for us! Getting the perfect fit is all about trial and error and is the most important part of picking a bra.

So here is a step by step process on how to get the perfect fit.

1. No Slack in the Back

  • Your bra should fit firm on the loosest hook, as it slackens over time, you can then go tighter – extending the life of your bra
  • Remember that the band should sit firm across the back, in a nice straight line from under your bust. The back provides you with 80% of the support so this step is extremely important.
  • If the band rides up in to and upside down ‘U’ then it’s too big and you need to go down a back size.

2. The Perfect Straps

  • The straps only provide 20% of the support.
  • The straps shouldn’t dig in to your shoulders, check this by placing two fingers underneath the straps, they should be able to fit comfortably.3. Jiggle around a little
  • After you have perfected the back band and the straps then you need to make sure you’re positioned properly in the cups.
  • Simply scoop your breast tissue out from under your arms, pulling them to the centre of the bra.
  • The wires shouldn’t dig in and you shouldn’t be spilling out.

4. No gaps allowed

  • Make sure the centre of the bra is sitting flat against your chest without feeling uncomfortable.
  • To check this, try putting two finger under the panel, if you can do this easily then the bra is too loose and you need to go down a back size.
  • If your boobs look like they are trying to escape and are spilling over the centre panel then the cups is too small and you need to go up a size.

Smalls for all

Smalls for All is a charity set up to help women and children in Africa meet their most basic hygiene and security needs.  They collect and distribute underwear including pants and bras and distribute them to vulnerable women where it matters most.

The charity will accept donations of new underwear or gently worn bras and they then deliver them directly to the people who need them the most.  They also accept worn bras which they recycle to raise funds.

It’s really lovely to see a small charity like this making a difference to people’s lives.  We think it’s a great cause so this week we sent off a few bags of items from the warehouse that were not suitable for sale for various different reasons.

If you’re planning a wardrobe de-clutter soon and come across anything suitable or you just want to donate, all the details are available on the Small for All website.

The Best Sleeping Positions When You’ve Got Big Boobs

The clocks go back this weekend HURRAH! That means we can say hello to an extra hour in bed and lighter mornings. For some of you, this may mean an extra hour of trying to get comfortable with your boobs. Anyone with large breasts will tell you, finding a comfy sleeping position is quite the mission. But once you have it done, that’s your slumber sorted! For those still on the hunt for those perfect Z’s or just want to try something new, we’ve got the best sleeping positions for when you’ve got big boobs.

Sleeping on your front

Before you swiftly skip past this one, hear us out. Sleeping on your stomach is possible! Myself being a 30H I could never and I mean never sleep on my front. Whenever I’d roll over in a sleepy daze, I’d be quick to turn back as it was so uncomfortable. However, now in my mid-twenties, sleeping on my front has never been more comfortable! Don’t ask me what has changed, but it is now my go-to position. If you’ve been ruling out this position for a while, give it another go! Plump yourself up by cuddling a pillow or if you’re feeling fancy, you could try one of those pillows that has a place for your boobs carved out! Yes those are now a thing.

Laying on your back

It’s no surprise that lying on your back seems the most logical for those with large breasts. It takes the pressure off your back and you don’t crush your boobs at the same time. If you tilt your pillow slightly upwards behind you head, it’ll feel extra comfortable while you sleep. If your boobs are quite heavy it can also take the weight off your chest.

On your side

Sleeping on your side is one of the most common sleeping positions. Propping something like a pregnancy pillow under your bust is amazing for comfort, especially if they’re feeling slightly tender at that time of the month, or even during pregnancy. You can also try the fetal side position. This is where you slightly arch your back and put a bend in your knees. This is again great for if you’re pregnant, as it improves circulation around your body and to the foetus.

If you’re struggling to get comfortable or feel your boobs are getting in the way, give one of the above a go! Or if you just fancy trying something new, you may be like myself and find a position that you’ve hated is now super comfortable. What’s your go-to sleeping position? We’d love to know! But until then…

Be sure to share our video with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
